Royal Highlands Bike Club Meeting
April 5, 2021

The monthly meeting of the RH Bike Club was called to order by President Tom Dixon at 4:03 p.m. on April 5. Nine members were present for the meeting via the Zoom online format.

The minutes from the last meeting (February 1, 2021) were read. Mike Kowalski moved to accept the minutes. John Cattaneo seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Treasurer Dale Waddell reported a balance of $406.82 in the club account. There are 16 households in the club.

The first item of business was to determine if another survey should be conducted to find out the days of the week that most club members can ride trail rides outside the community. It was decided to wait until fall to do another survey. (As an aside Tom asked Jim Streight why he did not want to ride the West Orange Trail. Jim said that trail is too crowded and has too many intersections.)

The last item was the upcoming Pinellas Trail Trip next week. Tom said that Bob Smith had questioned him about the first day’s map. Tom said that riders should not pay attention to the mile markers. We will be riding from Starkey Park where we will have lunch. Tom also gave the following update on COVID conditions at the hotel: hot breakfast is back every day but can only be eaten in your rooms or outside around the pool; there are no tables and chairs in the breakfast area; the outside doors are locked at all times (except for the lobby doors) requiring a key card for entry; no maid service during our stay. Tom is trying to upgrade his room to a suite to provide a place for the nightly wine and cheese gathering there.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:20. The next meeting is May 3 at 4 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Smith, Secretary (from notes provided by Lynda Streight :-)
